Staying Creative Gallery started as a dream that Kristofer Parley and Nathan Nazo Davis had since the day they first met in late 2004. In the summer of 2021 they were presented with an opportunity to move from their small home studio in downtown Victoria, BC where they were living and working since 2014 and into a larger, unique and rare live/work commercial unit in beautiful Brentwood Bay, BC. This move would allow them to have the space to create without restraints, a space to teach small classes and a space to exhibit not only their own work but the works of other artists from time to time.

We believe art should be accessible to everyone so we welcome all ages and backgrounds and want everyone who steps into our gallery to feel welcome, comfortable and encouraged to immerse themselves in the art.

Who We Are

  • Kristofer Parley

    OWNER | ARTIST

    Kristofer always wanted to be an artist like his older brother Jay. When he was about eight his mother saw his potential and signed him up for watercolour painting classes. After school Kristofer would walk to his art classes with his paint palette in his hands and quickly fell in love with the medium. Almost forty years later he still enjoys painting what he sees.

  • Nathan Nazo Davis

    OWNER | ARTIST

    Nazo has been creating art for almost 5 decades and is a firm believer in art being therapeutic. He is a mentor, teacher, public speaker and ecourages everyone from all ages and backgrounds to explore their creative side. He would love for everyone to experience how getting lost in their own imagination and creativity can be beneficial to their mental health.

  • Chester

    GOOD BOY

    Chester found his home with us in 2022. He adjusted immediately and although we don’t know his age or details about his previous life we can definitely confirm he’s enjoying his current life. If he’s not out on a walk around the neighbourhood or on an adventure with his Dads you can typically catch Chester chillin, people watching by the door or catching a nap in one of his many spots. He loves to meet people but REALLY loves to meet other dogs.
